Troubleshooting
For maximum protection, most options on the Advanced Settings panel are on by default. Because some programs could conflict with these features, you may at times want to turn a setting off.
To access the Advanced Settings window:
Choose ZoneAlarm menu | Settings from the ZoneAlarm Security toolbar, and then click Advanced.

Child monitoring programs

In the Settings | Advanced panel, deselect Block programs that secretly record your keystrokes.*

Failed installation of browser programs and toolbars
Disappearing browser toolbars

In the Advanced Settings panel, disable Virtualization | Enable Virtualization before installing the feature or program. Be sure to turn virtualization back on after installation.*
Why? To prevent drive-by downloads, ZoneAlarm browser security blocks ActiveX installations that it does not yet recognize.

Online conference programs (e.g., Webex)

Language translation programs

Because tech support programs may include keylogging technology, either turn off ZoneAlarm browser security or in the Settings | Advanced panel, deselect Block programs that secretly record your keystrokes.*

- Try restarting your computer.You may need to restart for setting changes to take effect.
- If you trust the site, try using it without ZoneAlarm browser security, by choosing Open Unprotected Browser from the ZoneAlarm right-click system tray menu.
