Zone Labs Wins Fifth Consecutive
World Class Award from PC World
ZoneAlarm Pro Also Named a "Best
Buy" from PC World Editors in June Security Roundup
San Francisco, CA - June 7, 2004—Zone
Labs®, a Check Point company (Nasdaq: CHKP), today announced that PC
World editors chose ZoneAlarm® Pro 4.5 as the winner of the 2004 World
Class Award for best firewall. The World Class Award winners were
announced in the July 2004 issue of PC World, online now and available
on news stands June 15. This marks ZoneAlarm Pro's fifth consecutive
year as the winner in the firewall category.
Furthermore, ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5 was named a "Best Buy" for
software firewalls in PC World's June 2004 security roundup, receiving
an "Outstanding" ease-of-use rating, the highest among the software
firewall products.
As detailed in the June 2004 issue, the PC World product reviews team,
partnering with German security firm AV-Test, conducted rigorous testing
to evaluate how well various security products protect against a variety
of vulnerabilities, such as spyware, worms, and Trojan horses. ZoneAlarm
Pro 4.5 received four out of five stars overall, the highest marks given
to software firewalls in the ranking.
In the security roundup, PC World editors noted, "ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5
is the best-performing program and easy to use, with simple configuration
and meaningful alert messages." ZoneAlarm Pro was the only software
firewall to block all security breach attempts, including stopping
a malicious program from shutting down the firewall, and blocking
mass-mailing worms from using an open "backdoor" to spread to
other machines.
Celebrating its 22nd year, the respected World Class Awards honor the best
in computers, hardware, software and the Internet. To select the best of
the best, PC World editors examined the entire spectrum of products that
have appeared in or were submitted to the magazine over the past 12 months.
Hundreds of products in 67 categories were judged on usability, design,
