What does Inappropriate Age mean?

When an inappropriate age offense is detected, take a look at it because it can indicate the user may not be trustworthy.

Note: Because the data ZoneAlarm SocialGuard uses to estimate actual age is affected by the user’s self-reporting, there is no guarantee that the guess is correct.

ZoneAlarm SocialGuard scans for several potential age concerns:

  • Adult who friends many children: This is an adult who friended several children from a social circle. If you already know and trust this person, there is nothing to be concerned about. If you don’t know or trust this person, you should investigate their motives.
  • Age manipulations: This when someone has changed their age in Facebook several times.
  • Child with fake adult’s age: This is when someone who appears to be a child has entered an adult age in their Facebook profile.
  • Adult with fake child’s age: This is when a person who appears to be an adult has entered a child’s age in their Facebook profile.
  • Age limit violation: This is when a friend is older than the age limit you have set. This setting is turned off by default, so if you want to set an age limit, click Account Settings and then scroll to the Inappropriate age | Age limit violation setting.
