Avoiding Phishing and Spyware Web Attacks
By default Anti-phishing is on after you install the ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall security software with ZoneAlarm web Security Engine. You can change the Anti-phishing Protection settings as necessary.
To change Anti-phishing General Settings:
- In the tab, click for the Web Identity Protections category.
The Anti-phishing windows opens.
- Click in the navigation tree.
- Select to keep up to date with the latest phishing threats.
NOTE: If you want to run an anti-phishing update immediately, click .
NOTE: If you turned off anti-phishing alerts by selecting the Don't show me this again option in response to a previous anti-phishing web alert, and you want to begin receiving anti-phishing alerts again, click .
- Click .
To change Web Protection Settings:
- In the tab, click for the Web Identity Protections category.
The Anti-phishing window opens.
- Click in the navigation tree.
- Select to enable, or clear to disable the checkboxes for these features as necessary:
Enable site status check

Lets ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall security software check a web site to determine if it is a known phishing or spyware distributor.

Enable anti-phishing (signature)

Lets ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall security software check web sites for digital signature that verifies the software author and the authenticity of the code.

Enable anti-phishing (heuristics)
|
Lets ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall security software check sites for known characteristics of phishing and spyware sites, even if they are not yet registered as known phishing or spyware distributor sites.
